Flood Barriers Protect Riverside Operations

Following major flooding in 2022, Sunshine Sugar has upgraded flood protection at the Condong Sugar Mill to reduce risk, protect critical infrastructure, and support business continuity.

AWMA's FloodFree Barrier Solutions were installed across key site openings to prevent floodwater ingress while maintaining day-to-day operational access. All barriers are manually deployed, allowing on-site teams to deploy the systems at the first sign of rising river levels, floodwater, or stormwater ingress.

By combining engineered flood barriers with drainage and bunding upgrades, the site is now better equipped to reduce downtime, recovery costs, and improve long-term operational sustainability.
