On this new 'greenfield' site, a concealed passive flood barrier has been installed early in the construction phase; the ideal time for integration when permanent vertical installation below the high-traffic pedestrian walkway is required.

This community-based flood protection solution is 'passive' or self-activating. As water enters the drain at the front of the barrier, the barrier rises automatically using buoyancy principles, creating a watertight seal that protects the entrance from water ingress without the need for manual intervention or power.
